Book Your Dive nowMore than Diving: An Immersion in the Algarve's Biodiversity

Divespot Portugal opened its doors in 1997 and remains, to this day, the only diving center operating in Armação de Pêra. For nearly 30 years, we have been taking people to explore the Algarve reef—from experienced divers to those who have never even put on a fin.
Our diving trips are limited to small groups, allowing us to offer a more personalized service tailored to each individual's needs. In addition to these outings, we offer a wide range of diving courses adapted to each person's interests, including "discovery dives" for beginners.
But we are more than just a diving center and school—we are also a support center for scientific research. Every member of our team is a marine biologist, oceanographer, or fisherman… with thousands of hours spent on this reef. Because of this, every dive is an opportunity to uncover the reef's secrets and learn more about the life hidden in these waters.
Today, our efforts have contributed significantly to the creation of a marine protected area: the Algarve Reef Marine Nature Park – Pedra do Valado. Now in effect, it aims to protect this natural heritage from the threats it faces.
If you love the ocean, exploring, and contributing to science in a safe and welcoming environment, then come dive with Divespot! Still not convinced? Check out our social media or get in touch with us—we’ll be happy to answer any of your questions.
The Ocean’s Hidden Masterpiece:Portugal’s Largest Natural Reef
Hidden beneath the waves of Armação de Pêra Bay lies a unique natural wonder of the Portuguese coast: the "Largest Natural Reef in Portugal."
This reef is home to the Algarve's highest concentration of marine biodiversity—a vibrant community comprising more than 1,300 distinct species, some of which are found nowhere else on Earth. From gorgonian gardens to schools of wrasse, from the imposing conger eel to the tiny goby, and from the camouflaged octopus to flamboyant nudibranchs—there is an entire world waiting to be discovered.
Our mission is to be the bridge between you and that world.
